Pastor Yolanda Correa
Yolanda Correa is the daughter of Miguel A Correa and Angelina Pintor (both passed away). She is the second of four siblings, Alba, Miguel A III, and Jayson. She was born on August 9, 1963, in New York. At 7 years old she moved with her family to the small town of Maunabo in the southeast of the island of Puerto Rico.
Yoly, in the language of the heart, has an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy, a BA in Christian Education, and an MDiv. She was married to Miguel A Santiago for 33 years until he died in 2021. Yolanda Michelle Santiago Correa is their only daughter and currently works for the Hispanic House of Studies at Duke Divinity School and is a candidate for a PhD in Religion and Culture.
Professionally, Pastor Yoly has worked as a physical therapy assistant, teacher, secretary, administrator, and pastor for the last 24 years.
She grew up in the Methodist church being part of the third generation of her family in this denomination. She received the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at the age of 14, beginning a personal relationship with Him. From that moment on, she developed as a leader at the local and conference level of the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico.
She was ordained in 2006 and has so far received six (6) pastoral appointments; four (4) in Puerto Rico and two (2) in the United States (Texas and North Carolina).
Yoly was born and has been trained as a leader. She is sincere, outspoken, a communicator, a developer, and has the ability to accept people without judgment. She seeks to connect with those who allow her to and adapt easily to the changes that life brings.
In this new opportunity that the Lord has given her, she hopes and prays to be an instrument of blessing in God’s hands for Gibson Memorial and the entire Spring Hope community.
